As promised - a progress video…Day 3 was iconic - loved en plein air painting with some really great people led by @juliahawkinsart @the_artacademy_

The fear of painting in such a public space like Bankside was real but that was sort of the point! So I put on my painting apron and got stuck in. Big thanks to all the passer-by’s from all over the 🌍 and school groups who made lovely and encouraging comments! I’m not saying I’ll come rushing back but I’d like to think I can now do this again!

This was Day 2…A fabulous day out yesterday sketching and painting scenes of London with lovely peers @the_artacademy_ and the ever so patient and kind @juliahawkinsart

Luckily it’s cooled down and we are out of our heat wave 🥵 but we contended with strong winds - literally knocking our pochade boxes to the ground at 15 mph💨🙈🤣!

My process and progress so far…pleased with my under painting sketch, proportions and perspective. Had to call it though after a full day - so packed up my pochade, and hastily I might add, with the very real threat of rain (scroll to last image to see those dark clouds rolling in.. 🌧️ 🏃‍♂️!) See what I mean?

Love vibrant, cultural, historical and bustling London in the summertime-or anytime! My favourite city.
